After years of doing the same old song and dance, we found ourselves leaving interviews without enough information about the candidate, so we made a series of changes that has led us to make better hiring choices for the skills, knowledge, attitudes, and experiences important to success at our institution. In this session, I will help you identify your make or break attitudes and craft behavioral interview questions to help you find the best person for your team.

ORIGINALLY PRESENTED AT SOUTHWEST ASSOCIATION OF COLLEGE & UNIVERSITY HOUSING OFFICERS IN LITTLE ROCK, AR

Part of the Division of Student Affairs Spring Brownbag Series. The Division of Student Affairs encourages staff at all levels to pursue research and develop best practices for the field. Many of our professionals and graduate assistants presented at local, regional, and national conferences over the last academic year. We invite the campus community to share in those experiences and have asked the presenters to replicate their presentations on our campus for a brownbag series. All SMU students, staff, and faculty are welcome to attend however seating is limited in the Health Center Classroom (enter from the north entrance).

Bob Smith Health Center, Room 121 (Enter using North Entrance)
